Disaster Recovery Assistance

The AB 540 Disaster Recovery Program provides short-term disaster recovery assistance to eligible residents affected by the Bug, Fred Mountain, Stallion, or Hawk fires. All assistance is in the form of short-term rental assistance.

The program is intended to help renters address immediate, disaster-related needs and stabilize their housing situation. Homeowners are only eligible when requesting short-term motel assistance and/or deposit assistance. Read our FAQ for further information about the program.

Now Accepting Applications: Older Adults Home Modification Program

The Older Adults Home Modification Program is currently accepting applications! Eligible applicants must:

• Be 62 years of age or older; 
• Have an income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI); and
• Occupy the property as their primary residence, and the property must be located within Reno city limits.

Our community partner, Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada (RTNNV), is managing the application process on behalf of the program.

Appointment Times for Walk-In Rental and Deposit Assistance

Effective 1/1/2026:

• Monday: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
• Tuesday: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
• Thursday: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

There will be no walk-ins on Thursday, September 24, 2026 due to a staff training. Walk-ins will resume on Monday, September 28th, 2026.
