Appeal Parking Ticket
You have the option to submit a written statement to the Hearing Officer or schedule a teleconference hearing. You will have fifteen (15) calendar days to complete either option.
Written statement appeals can be completed online.
You may also complete the written statement at City Hall 1 East First St. Floor 2 (City Clerk's office), Reno NV 89501. Between the hours of Monday through Friday excluding holidays between the hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Non-Ownership Claim
You can submit a non-ownership claim online.
If you do not have all the required information to complete the online process you can email parkingservices@reno.gov or call 775-334-2293 for additional options.
The most common forms to support no longer owning a vehicle are:
- Bill of sale signed by all parties involved.
- A receipt from the DMV confirming the license plates have been surrendered.
- Copy of the vehicle title signed by all parties.
- Vehicle insurance cancellation notice.
- Any other form that supports sale of vehicle and release of interest.
Each applicant is required to provide a completed application along with the below items per RMC 6.07 either through the online portal or in-person at City Hall.
- Current DMV vehicle registration
- Current Government issued ID
- Current Proof of Residency
- Accepted forms of residency include:
- Current Lease (Sub-Leases will not be accepted), valid through the expiration of permit.
- Utility Bill in applicant’s name,
- Voter registration card,
- Real Estate Tax Statement,
- Deed, or
- Homeowner’s or Renter's Insurance Policy.
- Accepted forms of residency include:
Long Term Resident/Owner (12 month) Permits are available on July 1st.
Short Term Occupancy (6 month) Permits are issued utilizing a Spring and Fall seasonal schedule.
- Spring (January - June) season permits are available on January 1st.
- Fall (July - December) season permits are available on July 1st.
Permits are not eligible for proration regardless of purchase date.
Per the City of Reno adopted fee schedule for 2025/2026:
- Long Term Resident/Owner (12 month) Permits
- $24.00
- Short Term Occupancy (6 month) Permits
- $12.00
- Landlord (Temporary 48 Hour) Permits
- $5.00
- Replacement Permit Fee
- $5.00
Per RMC Chapter 6.07.010, a long-term resident is defined as a property owner who resides at the property six (6) or more months OR a long-term resident who has resided at the property for four (4) or more years.
Permits are not eligible for proration regardless of purchase date.

Please note, the following properties located within the Residential Permit Zone are ineligible for City of Reno parking permits:
- The Towers at Pink Hill (1385 N Virginia St)
- The Dean (1475 N Virginia St)
- Fifteen51 (1551 N Virginia St)
