What if I don’t pay my parking ticket?
If no payment is received after 15 calendar days, a $20.00 late fee may be charged. A second late fee of $20.00 may be charged after 30 calendar days. A Nevada DMV registration hold may be placed as well as a $10.00 fee after 90 days of nonpayment.
How do I avoid late fees and a DMV registration hold?
Paying the full balance before the late fee schedule will prevent any additional penalty fees and/or a DMV registration hold. Enrolling in a payment plan program will also prevent any late fees or DMV holds if enrolled prior to the late fee schedule. Parking Services is not responsible for any DMV registration late fees due to unpaid parking tickets.
I have a Nevada DMV registration hold. How do I resolve this?
To remove the Nevada DMV registration hold, the full balance due must be paid. Once full payment has been made it can take 2-3 business days for the hold to be lifted to complete your registration online or at a Nevada DMV kiosk. If you have an in-person appointment with the NV DMV please bring a copy of your receipt as proof of payment.
I made a payment online but the parking ticket still shows a balance due.
Please confirm that payment was deducted from your bank account. If payment was debited from your account please forward a copy of your bank statement showing the cleared payment to Parkingservices@reno.gov.
I am unable to locate my parking ticket online.
Please be aware that certain manual written parking tickets can take up to a week to be updated. If you received a yellow parking ticket and the ticket is not in the system please call Parking Services at 775-334-2293 or send an email to parkingservices@reno.gov.
How do I set up a payment plan?
Please contact Parking Services at 775-334-2293 to inquire about payment plans or email parkingservices@reno.gov to get more information. Payment plans can be set up any time a balance is due. Please be aware that entering into a payment plan will not remove a DMV registration hold.
Does a warning count against me?
Warnings do not have a monetary value but a warning issued to your vehicle will be part of your vehicle history.
How do I file an appeal?
You have the option to submit a written statement to the Hearing Officer or schedule a teleconference hearing. You will have fifteen (15) calendar days to complete either option.
Written statement appeals can be completed online.

Do I have to pay my ticket before I can appeal my citation?

I submitted an appeal and have not received an update.
Please be aware that an appeal decision can take a week or more to obtain from the hearing officer. If you have any questions please contact the City Clerk's office.
