What We Do
The Front Desk is run by a team of highly trained and skilled Police Services Specialists (PSS). PSS' are trained to take crime reports from victims, survivors and witnesses of all types of crimes. In addition to assisting members of the community with in-person reporting, this team routinely processes crime reports
FAQ
The victim of the crime typically must be the reporting party and involved in the reporting process. The exceptions to this rule are minor children, endangered/vulnerable persons, or situations in which a legal guardianship/power of attorney are in place.
The easiest way to add photographs or new information to your report is to file a supplemental online report. On the File a Report page, there is an option to “Add to Report” in English or Spanish where additional information can be collected. Please write out the additional information or that you have photographs (video, screenshots, PDFs, etc.) that you would like to add and a Police Services Specialist will issue you a link from Axon/Evidence.com. The link works like any other upload software and will last for 10 (ten) days before expiring. Axon is the same platform provider that Reno Police Department officers use to store body worn camera footage and digital evidence. Twenty-five items can be uploaded at a time using the link. If you have any issues or questions regarding supplemental reports, please contact the Reno Police Department Front Desk.

After the report has been completed by the officer or report taker, the report is reviewed by a supervisor or sergeant. The review verifies if the incident is able to be investigated. If the case is able to be further investigated, it will be sent to the appropriate detective division for further review.
