The Special Events Office works to grow Reno’s current tourism base, attract new visitors and encourage community events that add to the local quality of life.

Special Events In-Kind Sponsorships Are LIVE!

The City of Reno in-kind sponsorships for FY18/19 are online and due January 12, 2018.

 The City of Reno Sponsorship Program has been created for Special Events in and around the City of Reno. Special Event Sponsorship's are not cash funded; they're used for in-kind services. In-kind services are services provided from the City's Public Works Department, Reno Fire Department, Reno Police Department and Parks Department. All Special Events are required to abide by all City, County, and State Laws.

Applications below:

Nonprofit/Government Event 

A Non-Profit/Government Event is defined as an event that all six of the following conditions are met:

• The event is organized and conducted by an organization defined in NRS 372.3261 and which operates from or provides services within the City of Reno; and,

• The event's proceeds are given directly to organizational programs; and,

• The event provides a benefit to the general public as defined by RNS 372.3261; and,

• The event includes participation either by spectators and/or participants by the general public (notwithstanding an admission or participation fee); and,

• The City services estimate does not exceed $7,500; and,

• The event is held on City of Reno property or requires provisions of City Services.

New Event

A New Event is defined as an event that all three of the following conditions are met:

• The event or a substantially similar event has been in existence for less than three years regionally; and,

• May not have a forecast for an average daily attendance yet event is programmed and advertised/marketed to the community at large; and,

• The event is held on City of Reno property or requires provisions of City Services.

Community Event

A Community Event is defined as an event that meets all five of the following conditions:

• The event has been in existence for a minimum of three years; and,

• The event has an average daily attendance of 2,000 of more spectators/attendees; and,

• Events that may not necessarily result in a significant economic impact to the City of Reno, but promote civic and/or neighborhood pride, and enhance quality of life and well being of the City's residents; and,

• Programmed for and marketed to the community at large; and,

• Held on City of Reno property or requires provisions of City Services.

Legacy Event

A Legacy Event is defined as an event that meets all five of the following conditions:

• The event has been in existence for a minimum of five years; and,

• The event has an average daily attendance of 5,000 of more spectators/attendees; and,

• Demonstration that it provides a significant positive economic impact to the City of Reno; and,

• Programmed for and marketed to the community at large; and,

• Held on City of Reno property or requires provisions of City Services.
