We are dedicated to providing an efficient and dependable business environment with high-quality customer service. In addition to contacting us or stopping by our counters at City Hall to get your questions answered, we offer several programs to provide additional support and assistance.

Drop In with CD

Have a question or need to discuss an issue with your active project or permit? Drop in with CD on Monday mornings!

Senior staff with the Community Development Department will be available to discuss active planning projects and large-scale building permits, such as permits for commercial or multi-family projects, on Mondays from 8-9 a.m. No prior reservation or scheduling is needed—simply stop by with your questions! Check in at the 6th floor counter when you’ve arrived at City Hall. Customers will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Drop In with CD will not occur on the Mondays when Reno City Hall is closed for a holiday.

Planner of the Day

We make sure that one of our planners is available during normal business hours to answer your planning and zoning questions! Call the Planner of the Day at 775-321-8309, email Planningdesk@reno.gov, or visit the Planner of the Day on the second floor of City Hall. Please ask for the Planner of the Day at the 2nd floor counter when you arrive.

Business First Program

Are you looking to start or expand your business? By signing up through our Business First program, we will meet with you face-to-face to answer all your questions and get you started on the business licensing process.
