2026 Municipal Elections
The City of Reno municipal seats up for election in 2026 are:
- City of Reno Mayor (4-year term, 2026–2030)
- Council Member Ward 2 (4-year term, 2026–2030)
- Council Member Ward 4 (4-year term, 2026–2030)
- City Attorney (4-year term, 2026–2030)
- Reno Municipal Court Judge, Department 1 (6-year term, 2026–2032)
- Pursuant to NRS 293.179, judicial candidates are now required to fill out and submit a questionnaire during the filing period.
Filing Period
Judicial: Reno Municipal Court Judge, Department 1:
- Monday, Jan. 5, through Friday, Jan. 16, 2026
- 9 AM - 4 PM Jan 5 - Jan 15
- 9 AM - 5 PM Jan 16
Non-Judicial: City Attorney, Mayor, Council Member Wards 2, and 4:
- Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 13, 2026
- 9 AM - 4 PM Mar 2 - Mar 12
- 9 AM - 5 PM Mar 13

Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Polling locations and Election results will be posted on the Washoe County Registrar of Voters website and the Nevada Secretary of State website.

Appointments are available and highly recommended. Walk-in candidate filing will be accepted, however, appointments will be taken and processed first.

Additional Filing Information
The City of Reno is participating in the Aurora candidate filing method provided online by the Secretary of State.
The Candidate Filing Packet documents will be made available through the Nevada Secretary of State as the filing deadlines approach. There is no requirement to fill out the paperwork prior to your appointment, but doing so helps to expedite the process.
