At-Large Reno City Council Vacancy (2 Year Term)

The City of Reno application period to fill the vacancy of the At-Large position of the Reno City Council is now closed.

Appointment process and timeline

  • Friday, January 25: Applications available at or in person during regular business hours at the City Clerk’s Office for one week: from Friday, January 25 to Friday, February 1. Note that the Clerk’s Office is closed on the weekend.
  • Friday, February 1 at 5 p.m.: The application process will close. No late applications will be accepted.
  • Wednesday, February 13: During the regular meeting of the Reno City Council, which starts at 10 a.m., each Council Member will choose up to five candidates. The Clerk will then notify the candidates (finalists), and selections will be posted online.
  • Thursday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m.: The finalists will be invited to a Q&A and public meet and greet at Reno City Hall. More details about this event will be announced later.
  • Friday, February 15 at 2 p.m.: Council will interview the finalists and make a selection at a special public meeting.

Requirements and additional information

  • Applicants must be 18 years old, a registered voter, and a resident of the City of Reno for at least 30 days.
  • Government issued photo ID will be required at time of application.
  • Proof of Residency.
  • No filing fee.
  • Applications will be posted to the City Clerk's website each day.
  • Tuesday, February 5, City Council meeting agenda will be posted with each application received.
  • Annual salary $75,420.80.
