If you have been affected by housing instability, you may qualify for housing or utility assistance. To apply for assistance, you will need to first create an account on the portal. Once you create an account you will be guided through the application process and necessary documentation. To qualify for financial assistance with rent, deposit, and/or utilities, you will need to:
- Meet the area income limit of 80% or below
- Demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability
- Show you have income to sustain your household once the assistance period ends.

Reno Housing Authority
The Reno Housing Authority has a CARES ACT Housing Assistance Program (CHAP). This rental assistance program provides short-term rental assistance and is intended to assist Nevadans impacted by COVID-19 who are delinquent in paying rent. These funds are available in Washoe County and are specifically designated to assist with the payment of rent and late fees. Upon verification of eligibility, assistance with rent may be provided for up to nine months. Assistance may be available through December 31, 2020 and is contingent on funding availability.
