The Reno Police Department is deeply saddened to announce the loss of a sworn member of the Reno Police Department and City of Reno family.

On May 21, 2026 at approximately 7 p.m., an off-duty member of the Reno Police Department was found deceased in their residence.

Out of respect for the family, no additional information is being released at this time. We ask that they be afforded privacy as they navigate this difficult period. 

This is a tragic loss for the Department, the City of Reno, and all who knew them. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
