The Candidate Filing Period for Mayor, Council Member - Ward 2, Council Member - Ward 4, and City Attorney begins Monday, March 2, 2026, and runs through Friday, March 13, 2026.  

Details on the process: 

• Filing Period: March 2-12, 2026 (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), March 13, 2026 (Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) 
• Location to file: Reno City Hall, 1 E. First St., in the City Clerk’s Office (second floor) 
• Fees: Filing fees must be paid with cash, cashier’s check or money order
• Non-Judicial Filing Fee: $30

City of Reno business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available and highly recommended. Walk-in candidate filings will be accepted, however, appointments are preferred and will be taken first.
