The Reno Redevelopment Agency (RDA) is pleased to announce the awardees of the FY 2025/2026 ReStore Facade and Tenant Improvement Program, awarding $1 million in matching funds to 23 projects that will help revitalize commercial properties and support small businesses across Reno Redevelopment Areas 1 and 2. 

This year’s program drew 34 applications totaling $2.5 million in funding requests. After a review and scoring process, 23 projects were selected to receive awards from the $1 million available, with $500,000 allocated to each Redevelopment Area. This funding cycle will result in improvements to 13 buildings, 28 storefronts, and the establishment of 11 new businesses. 

“These projects will significantly reshape key downtown corridors and reflect the continued demand for reinvestment in older and underutilized spaces,” said Reno Vice Mayor and RDA Board Member Miguel Martinez. “The ReStore Program is one of our most effective tools for driving economic development, supporting small businesses, and enhancing the look and feel of Reno’s urban core.”

The ReStore Program provides matching reimbursement funding of up to $50,000 for both exterior (facade) and interior (tenant) improvements to commercial properties. The program helps business and property owners reinvest in their buildings, reduce vacancy, modernize older structures, and strengthen the overall visual and economic vitality of downtown neighborhoods.  

Awarded projects represent $20 million in total improvements, achieving a 20:1 private-to-public match ratio, meaning every $1 contributed by the Redevelopment Agency is leveraging $20 in private investment.

The RDA is funded fully through Tax Increment Financing (TIF), a revenue source dedicated by law to redevelopment projects, and is not part of the City of Reno’s general fund.
