Residents Invited to Apply for the 2026 Reno Constituents Institute

Post Date:11/04/2025

Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County residents are invited to apply now for the 2026 session of the Reno Constituents Institute (RCI) program provided by the City of Reno. The cohort application is open until December 5, 2025.

From February to May 2026, RCI participants will meet with City of Reno staff to gain an understanding of the City’s structure, processes and services through hands-on exercises, presentations, and tours.

“Through RCI, participants gain firsthand knowledge of how their city operates and learn directly from the people who make those services possible,” said Jackie Bryant, Reno City Manager. “This program aligns with our commitment to being transparent and providing residents with meaningful opportunities to see how local government works, helping build understanding, trust, and engagement between our organization and the community we serve.”

The free,12-week RCI program will be hosted on Thursday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at various City facilities and venues. Classes begin on February 12, 2026, and run through May 17, 2026. To successfully complete the program, participants must attend at least 10 out of the 12 sessions.

RCI offers an opportunity for participants to gain valuable insight into City operations so they can become ambassadors for positive change in their neighborhood and the community. It also offers a learning opportunity for those who want to serve on one of the City's many advisory boards or are interested in running for office.

Space is limited to 40 participants. Apply today! Applications for the 2026 session and more information about the program are available at Reno.gov/RCI
