June 10, 2020 Reno City Council Highlights
In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:
D.2 - North Valley Flood Control Basin Inspection Program
Council was presented with updates on flood control basins within the Swan Lake watershed. Those basins are often owned and maintained by homeowners associations, or companies. The inspection program examines the controls and advises owners on repairs and improvements in an effort to reduce water levels in Swan Lake.
D.5 - 1,000 Homes in 120 Days
Council approved a corrected agreement for 661 Lake Street. The owners plan to develop a mixed-use housing development for 475 residential units split between student housing and apartments.
Council was given an update from the Finance Department, which includes targets of five, ten, and fifteen percent reductions for Council-specific spending. The council also accepted an augmented budget to compensate for some fiscal shortfalls.
I.1 - Meridian 120 Appeal
Council supported and added conditional changes to development maps and plans for the Meridian 120 Villages.
