June 3, 2020 Reno City Council Highlights

Post Date:06/03/2020 6:36 PM

In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:

C.1 - Mountain View Residential Villages

Council approved the special use permit for the Mountain View Mixed Residential Villages project, consisting of 283 multifamily units, located on the northeast intersection of West Fourth Street and Summit Ridge Drive.  The approval included a requirement for a pedestrian connection from the development to Summit Ridge Drive.

D.1 - Budget Updates for Fiscal Years 19/20 and 20/21

Staff presented updates on tax revenue and budget implications due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consolidated tax and room tax figures were sharply lower compared to previous years because of the temporary closures of hotels and some businesses. Staff continue to find creative solutions to close the budget gaps, including leaving unfilled positions vacant along with reductions in supplies and equipment.

G.1.1 - Reno Arts and Culture Commission

Council appointed Melanie Rudnick to the Commission.
