CDC guidance on funeral attendance
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises caution for those attending funerals. While there is no risk of contracting COVID-19 at a funeral from a person who is deceased from the virus, the risk for attendees contracting COVID-19 at the service is increased. Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak’s emergency declarations prohibit gatherings of 10 or more people.
Those attending funerals should wear masks or face coverings and practice six feet of social distancing. Services held outdoors can reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread compared to indoor services. Those who are sick should not attend. Virtual or phone arrangements are advised to allow for people to view or listen to the service from their home.
