March 25, 2020 Reno City Council Highlights

In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:

D.1 - COVID-19 Response

Staff provided specifics and timelines of actions taken by the City of Reno during the pandemic. Those include advisories and orders on a local, regional, and state basis. Staff explained that certain charter and legal requirements were followed. 

D.2 - Finance update regarding COVID-19

Staff explained finance and budget impacts based on the COVID-19 pandemic. Council was told that projections are fluid and subject to change. Staff continues to monitor local and countrywide financial indicators. The Finance Department explained the funding sources for the City of Reno, including room tax, sales taxes and property tax funds.
