Open Houses Scheduled in December to Introduce Next Section of Draft Zoning Code
Two more open houses are scheduled in December 2019 as a part of the City of Reno's project to update its zoning code. The community is invited to attend and learn how to get involved in the process.
The meetings will introduce the next part of the draft zoning code on administration and procedures. The document with the draft code language will be released in mid-December for detailed review and public feedback. Members of community who are interested in attending can RSVP below.
- Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at the South Valleys Library
- Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center
December will mark the release of the last draft section of code. The initial drafts were released in three sections. Part 1, which focuses on zoning districts and uses, was released in August. Part 2 on development standards was released in November. The community is still encouraged to review and provide comments on those chapters. More information about how to provide feedback is available at Reno.Gov/Zoning.
After collecting input on all three sections through mid-January 2020, the City will be creating a revised consolidated draft. The revised document will be released in April 2020 for a second round of public review.
