Reno Mayor hosts Housing Town Hall

Post Date:09/03/2019 1:51 PM
Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve invites the community to a Housing Town Hall on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Renown Regional Medical Center’s Mack Auditorium.

This event is free and open to the public. Parking will be free to the public as well. Registration is not required, but is highly recommended.

Schieve, who announced the town hall in February during this year’s State of the City address, will make opening remarks and facilitate a discussion to be had by housing experts in the Reno area.

“It’s extremely important that we continue this conversation,” Schieve said. “That’s why we are bringing together our partners and community to listen to what we’ve done, to share where we're going and to hear from our experts. I encourage all of you to join us for this opportunity to engage with your government. Be part of our team.”

Like many communities around the country, Reno is facing housing challenges. From rising rents and housing prices to an increasing homeless population, our community is coming together to begin addressing these needs and finding solutions for the future. Join Schieve for a Housing Town Hall where you can learn about new projects, hear from local experts, and explore solutions as a community.

There will be an information expo starting at 5 p.m., during which attendees will have the opportunity to visit booths manned by various housing groups and organizations in our community.

The roundtable discussion, or town hall, will begin at 6 p.m. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions as well.
