City of Reno hosts inaugural Reno Air Races Takeoff Celebration
- 1-1:45 p.m. - Deep Groove featuring “Lucky” Mark Ashworth on vocals & drums
- 2 p.m. - Flyover, sponsored by Bluth Development, LLC
- 2:05 p.m. - Biggest Little Parade
- 3 p.m. - Reno Jazz Orchestra Swing Band
- 4:30 p.m. - Keyzer Soze
- Race Plane Show ’n’ Shine, which will also feature vintage cars
- Food trucks
Media will have the opportunity to learn more on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., when the main partners join together to preview the event. Along with the City of Reno, the main event partners are the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (Reno-Stead Airport), Reno Air Racing Association (RARA), and the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County.
As part of its “Don’t Drive, Arrive!” program, RTC is offering free rides on RIDE Route 7 to the Reno Air Races Takeoff Celebration on Saturday, September 7 from 12 (noon) to 6 p.m. Air Races fans can also ride free on Route 7 on Wednesday, September 11 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Regular fares will be in effect on Thursday, September 12 through Sunday, September 15. Route 7 will detour from its scheduled route to drop off and pick up Air Races fans at the event. Check rtcwashoe.com for route and schedule information.
