In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:
B.4 - Housing: HUD Action Plan
Council approved a Housing and Urban Development program plan for the coming year. It is a combination of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Funds (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grants. The total funding is more than $3.5 million for everything from rehabilitation for homes, boosting homeless services, rapid re-housing, rental assistance, and preservation of 230 units of senior housing.
Council approved financial support to Wellcare for Community Triage Center services in Reno. Council also approved a lease of space at the property at 315 Record Street, known as the Community Assistance Center. Wellcare will offer direct substance abuse and/or mental health assessments. Case Management will occur on all clients receiving services to assist them with placement upon completion of treatment.
