City of Reno celebrates Older Americans Month

May is Older Americans Month, and the City of Reno is proud to collaborate with the Washoe County Human Services Agency, the City of Sparks and the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) to bring many informative and fun-filled events to celebrate our seniors throughout the month of May 2019.

This year’s theme is Connect, Create, Contribute, recognizing the key role seniors play in the vitality of our neighborhoods, networks and lives. Some of the key events in Reno include:

  • Fire Safety Discussion at Teglia's Paradise Park Activity Center on Friday, May 10 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Cybersecurity Best Practices at *Reno City Hall (7th Floor) on Tuesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. *This is the correct location for this event.
  • Stuff A Bus For Seniors Donation Drive at Sam’s Club (4835 Kietzke Ln.) on Thursday and Friday, May 23-24 from 3 to 7 p.m. New, unused donations will be accepted at the drive-by donation event. Donors will receive a buy-one, get-one deal for a future Reno Aces game.
  • Older Americans Month Closing Ceremonies at McKinley Arts & Culture Center on Friday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
