Issue Sheets Break Down Important Zoning Code Topics; Input Requested
First Issue Sheets Focus on Nonresidential and Mixed Use Areas
Over the next several months, the Zoning Code RENOvation team will release a series of issue sheets that break down some of the key issues under consideration in the comprehensive update to the zoning code.
“We invite everyone in the community to provide input on what you see in these issue sheets. Your feedback will help us create the rules and regulations that you see in the first drafts of code,” Community Development Director Arlo Stockham said.
The issue sheets will be released to the public approximately once a month through the project’s newsletter and posted on the City’s website. An online form will be available for individuals to submit feedback online, or comments may be sent to CodeUpdate@Reno.Gov.
Each issue sheet will be presented publicly at upcoming Reno Planning Commission and Reno City Council meetings. The public is welcome to provide public comment at these meetings as well. Below is the tentative schedule:

Issue Sheets on Nonresidential and Mixed Use Areas
In the first two issue sheets, zoning districts and uses for nonresidential and mixed use areas are discussed. Recommended changes are intended to implement the Master Plan and make the code easier to use and understand, while respecting area-specific planning efforts that have been completed.
Members of the public are invited to review the following documents:
- Issue Sheet 1A - Downtown, Airport, and Urban Area Mixed-Use Districts
- Issue Sheet 1B - Mixed Use Suburban, Commercial, Office and Industrial Districts
