March 13, 2019 Reno City Council Highlights
In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:
D.1 - Affordable Housing Funding
Council approved a resolution of support of the rehabilitation and preservation of 740 units of affordable housing. The units are spread across three different complexes in as many wards. The units will be rented to residents at or below 60 percent of the area median income.
Council heard updates and a presentation from RTC regarding artistic benches and bike racks. The council approved a cap of $120,000 for reimbursement for the Virginia Street RAPID project. RTC staff pledged to increase communication with the city about project updates and changes.
D.9 - Dockless Bike Share Franchise Agreement
Council did not approve an extension of the franchise agreement. Staff indicated that the Nevada State Legislature is continuing work on possible changes to Nevada Revised Statutes for electric scooter regulations.
G.2.1 Citizen Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Council approved the reappointment of Zoann Campana and Melinda Gustin to the Historical Resources Commission.
