January 23, 2019 City Council Highlights
In our ongoing commitment to keep citizens and media informed, we’ve summarized the outcomes of a few key agenda items from today’s Regular Meeting of the Reno City Council:
G.2 - Council Vacancy
Council approved an appointment process for a new city councilmember. Applications can be submitted for a one week period starting Friday, January 25. Council will review the applications and the top five candidates will move on to a public forum. A final vote by council on the finalists will occur on February 15.
B.1 - Homeless Service Ordinance
Council heard the introduction of ordinance modifications that would increase and improve quality of services for the most needy in the community. If approved, it would allow meal and homeless services along the East 4th Transit Corridor. It would also loosen restrictions and barriers to providers.
