Traffic advisory for January 13 at West 4th Street and McCarran Boulevard
Post Date:01/11/2019 10:16 AM
The City of Reno is advising the public and media that Public Works crews, in cooperation with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), will be installing a permanent traffic signal pole at West 4th Street and McCarran Boulevard on Sunday, January 13, 2019 starting at 7 a.m. Street closures will be in place for approximately two to three hours.
In order to safely stage the crane, crews must close one northbound McCarran travel lane, and completely close eastbound 4th Street at the intersection. It was determined by NDOT and the City of Reno that the Sunday morning time frame would create the least impact to the traveling public. It was also determined that night work was not feasible for the scope of work.
The traffic signal at West 4th Street and McCarran Boulevard was damaged due to a single-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, January 5. City of Reno Public Works and NDOT crews placed a temporary signal operating at a reduced capacity. The City of Reno and NDOT thank the traveling public for their patience over the last week.
