Community invited to review HUD Annual Action Plan

Post Date:05/08/2018 12:31 PM
The Community Development Department is hosting a community meeting to seek input on the draft of the City’s Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plan, which identifies the proposed allocation of funds for several grants used to support affordable housing, homeless services, and neighborhood revitalization.

The community meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center.

During the meeting, staff will give a short presentation about the proposed allocation of funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME program (HOME Investment Partnerships Program), and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). Staff will then answer questions and seek feedback on the proposal.

“We invite everyone to come to the meeting to learn more about these programs, how they benefit our community, and how we are proposing to use the grants in the upcoming year,” Elaine Wiseman, manager of the Housing and Neighborhood Development Division, said.

Each year, the City is required to submit its action plan indicating how the City plans to use the funds it will receive from HUD to address the priority needs identified in the Five-Year Consolidated Plan.
