EDAWN press release below:

4thStreet-4.23.16We are thrilled to share with you the outcome of the 2015 Vanguard Conference Big Idea Challenge in Reno (all summarized in the Next City article, "In Reno, Public Art Goes Along with Complete Streets Makeover"). Since the conference last May, EDAWN has worked with Next City, the City of Reno, and Reno Art Works to implement the vision of the winning idea.

Celebrate the vision of Reno's emerging 4th Street brewery arts district at the free inaugural Victory Way Block Party on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tour the local businesses, learn the history of the district, and become part of the story of Victory Way's future.

"I was thrilled to participate as one of the top 55 innovators, from across the globe, in the 2015 Next City Vanguard conference," Vice Mayor & Reno City Councilmember Oscar Delgado says. "A year later, I am excited to see the winning idea implemented in an effort to showcase the walkability of downtown; specifically, the budding Brewery District located on 4th Street."

Every business on 4th Street, from Lake to Elko Streets (and a little beyond), have been asked to participate and will be added to a business bingo map for participants to explore the area. Stilt walkers, hula hoopers, aerialists, buskers, food trucks, and muralists have been invited as well to setup a "pop up marketplace" at the event; creating a festive, fun and safe experience for constituents to explore and learn about 4th Street. Those who would like to participate as a vendor and/or volunteer can sign up here.

As a result of the conference, a street team will be hanging 51 Wayfinding Signs throughout town; from the University of Nevada, Reno, Fourth Street, Downtown, and Midtown.

The intended result of this event is for businesses on 4th Street to form a merchants association and an annual festival. Check out the Fourth Street site, and join us Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
