C.1 Proclamation to declare for April 2014 

Definition: A public or official announcement

1. Fair Housing Month - Presentation to be given by Katherine Knister, executive director of Silver State Fair Housing

D.1, 2, 3, 4 Presentations to City Council

1. Chief's Certificated of Commendation for response, involvement and professionalism during the shooting at Renown Campus. 

2. Reno Citizens Institute Graduation and Recognition of Spring Session 2014.

3. Economic Development Update - Nicole McDowell, workforce development and continuing education program manager at TMCC, and Alexis Hill, special events program manager at City of Reno. 

4. Update on Single Stream Recycling implementation - Greg Martinelli, area manager for Waste Management.

E.8 Consent Agenda: 

Definition - A tool used to streamline meeting procedures by collecting routine, non-controversial items into a group whereby all are passed with a single motion and vote.

E.8 Acceptance of $15,000.00 Grant Award from the United States Olympic Committee for disabled veteran fitness programs at Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center.

F.2. Downtown Police Special Assessment District (Staff Report

F.2.1 Opportunity for any resident or owner of property within the expansion area to present (orally or in writing) reasons why he/she believes their area should/should not be included in the expansion; or, if he/she believes the level of service should/should not be changed.

I.1 Ordinances

I.1 First Amendment Expressive Merchandise

I.1.1 Update, discussion and possible adoption of ordinance amendments to Titles 4,5 and 8 of Reno Municipal Code. To exempt sales of First Amendment protected expressive merchandise from business license and park permit requirements.

Definition: Items brought forth by specific departments.

J.2. City Manager's Office - Discussion, review and approval of changes to bylaws of the Downtown Police Special Assessment District Advisory Committee.  


L.4 Mayor and Council


Definition: Items brought forth for review by City Council and the Mayor.

L.4 Jenny Brekhus (Ward 1) - Resolution* donating $1000.00  in Council Donation funds to the Truckee River Foundation to host the 2014 Stay Afloat Safety Fair promoting awareness and safety. 

*Resolution Definition: a firm decision to do or not to do something; the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter.
