The McKinley Arts & Culture Center Gallery West presents works from the David J. Drakulich Foundation’s Combat Paper Nevada. Combat Paper is made from retired military uniforms. The uniforms are deconstructed and formed into a pulp. They are then used to create pieces of art. Each artist featured has a connection with the military, either through personal service or through family. The art tells each person’s story of that connection, creating something truly powerful to witness.
The David J. Drakulich Foundation for Freedom of Expression works with veterans, active duty service men and women, and their families to provide arts education. The foundation works in honor of David J. Drakulich, KIA Afghanistan, to help provide the healing potential of art to people affected by war.
