Nevada 150

It's Sesquicentennial!

No, it's not an April Fools prank. Sesquicentennial is a real word that's really hard to pronounce. Here's the break down: ses·qui·cen·ten·ni·al, sesquicentennial. Now say it three times fast! But seriously, have a look at how we're celebrating Nevada's 150th birthday #biggestlittlecity style.

Social

Check out our YouTube page for the Reno's Family Tree series, created in honor of Nevada's 150th Anniversary to celebrate families rooted in Reno. These families - big or small- have all contributed in a unique way to make our wonderful community what it is today.

Events

The Nevada 150 organization kicked-off the year-long celebration on March 21 in Carson City. This was the date that President Lincoln signed Nevada's Statehood into law. We had more than our fill of the official 1300 lb. birthday cake of the Silver State.
