Failure to pick up after dogs is causing increased health and safety issues in local parks.
The City of Reno will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. After a short presentation, the City will plant 12 trees in Idlewild Park at the site of the former Playland amusement park. The ceremony will feature the 30th presentation of the Tree City USA Award to the City of Reno by the Nevada Division of Forestry. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation. Truckee Meadows Beautiful, with members of the City’s Urban Forestry Commission, Truckee Meadows Community Forestry Coalition, and volunteers from NV Energy and Harrahs will help plant the trees.
