Robert became Finance Director for the City of Reno in 2011. Having lived in the City for years, he recognized this newest challenge as a great opportunity to enhance Reno by focusing on core City services, financial responsibility, and transparency. As Director of Finance and Administration, Robert manages and directs the Departments of Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Public Safety Dispatch.
Robert graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, as an accounting major. While finishing college, Robert began his career in accounting working in banking as an auditor. After graduation, he worked in differing capacities for several years in both privately owned and publicly traded firms.
After Robert became a Certified Public Accountant, he entered government as an accountant with the Nevada State Industrial Insurance System. Robert then accepted a position with the Nevada Department of Transportation, as their Chief Accountant. In 2002, Robert was promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Administration, where he led and directed all finance and administrative functions, including the issuance of over $1 billion in bonds and the annual receipt of over $340 million in Federal grants.
Robert currently resides in southwest Reno with his wife, and their son is attending college in California.
