Kelly comes to the Reno area and the City of Reno at the same time. She chose Reno to be part of the exciting and progressive development going on here. Kelly brings her human resources experience to the City of Reno to deliver high caliber programs that meet the needs and enhance the professional lives of municipal employees.
Kelly has been a Human Resources professional for many years, first in retail organizations and social services agencies and then in city government. With her team, the City of Reno HR department provides programs of labor and employee relations, payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation and safety, training, records management, job classification, compensation and organizational development.
Kelly received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland in Human Resources Management. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Kelly, along with her husband and two teenagers, serve as volunteers in several community organizations with a focus on serving seniors and individuals with disabilities. Kelly is particularly involved in Pet Partners, an international organization that certifies Animal Assisted Therapy teams. Kelly and her golden retriever are a Registered Team and spend time working with folks recovering from strokes and other mobility issues and with children overcoming developmental disabilities.
