Public Meeting & Results of Limited Feasibility Study of Options to remove parcels from FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area on Whites Creek (posted October 2009)

Approximately eight months after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reexamined and remapped some flood zones in the Double Diamond area effective March 16, 2009, Michael Baker Jr. Inc., working for the City of Reno, has finalized a preliminary hydraulic analysis and limited feasibility study. This study determines possible options and provides budgetary estimates for removing the parcels formerly protected by levee P11 from the FEMA determined special flood hazard area.

Public Meeting Nov. 3
On Nov. 3, 2009, the City held a public outreach at Depaoli Middle school in Double Diamond to discuss the results of the study, to answer any questions, and to allow for public input to the City.
