The purpose of the City of Reno TRAction Visioning Project is to create a theme and vision for the downtown Reno Truckee River Corridor as the bridge structures and flood walls are considered for replacement. Replacement of four bridge structures (Sierra, Virginia, Center, and Lake Street bridges) and some of the adjacent flood walls is necessary to meet public safety standards. Two additional bridges, Booth Street and Arlington Avenue, are also being studied to determine if replacement may be necessary.  View photos of Reno Bridges along Truckee River.

The project also provides the City an opportunity to improve the existing transportation facilities and involve the community in downtown redevelopment plans along the river corridor.

In October 2007, the City of Reno and the Truckee River Flood Management Project began initial discussions with the community to garner input on the local needs for public safety, access, mobility, and recreational uses.
