The City of Reno is a city that celebrates and supports special events. We believe that events enhance the vitality, quality of life, and economic prosperity of the City of Reno. The Special Events Office works to grow Reno’s current tourism base, attract new visitors and encourage community events that add to the local quality of life.

This funding period is only for events that take place July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018.


Your sponsorship application and supporting documents will not be considered unless all of the items are received by the final deadline of 5:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2017 - THIS IS A FIRM DEADLINE.  This form and all supporting documents must be turned in online through this form portal.  Applications CANNOT be emailed or mailed.

Additional Info:

  • Applications must meet all submission requirements to be considered for funding (click on the applications below to review the requirements for funding).
  • A Sponsorship Application workshop will be held at City Hall, the 7th Floor Caucus Room at 11 a.m. on November 28, 2016 and 4 p.m. on November 29, 2016.  These workshops will review the application process and online forms.
  • Applications are first reviewed by the Special Events Sponsorship Committee on:  January 26 and 27, 2017, pending availability by the Sponsorship Committee.  The Special Events Sponsorship Committee makes recommendations to the Special Events Subcommittee of the Reno City Council who will review their recommendations the week of February 6, 2017, pending availability by the Special Events Subcommittee. Then the Subcommittee's recommendations will be reviewed by the Reno City Council in March 2017.
