Washoe County HOME Consortium Seeks Committee Member

The Washoe County HOME Consortium (WCHC) is looking for a technically-proficient volunteer to join the Technical Review Committee (TRC) of the Consortium.

The WCHC was established in 1994 to improve the supply of affordable housing in Washoe County. The Consortium is committed to working throughout the community to expand and improve the supply of affordable housing.

 The TRC of the Consortium meets at 8:30am on the second Tuesday of each month at Reno City Hall and provides a forum for discussion on regional housing issues. The Committee reviews applications for funding and makes funding recommendations on federal HOME funds, State Low Income Housing Trust Funds, and other potential sources of affordable housing funding.

 The TRC is an 8-person committee with representatives from Washoe County, City of Reno, and City of Sparks. The vacant seat is an at-large position, however, applicants must reside in one of the Consortium jurisdictions. The term of the office is 3 years and is likely to begin July 1. The successful candidate will be selected by the technical staff members of the TRC. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of affordable housing, banking and finance, and the assessment of loan applications.
