Notice of Public Hearing and Availability of the City of Reno and Washoe County HOME Consortium Draft 2016-17 Annual Action Plan

 

In compliance with federal requirements, the City of Reno and the Washoe County HOME Consortium (Consortium) have prepared a draft 2016 Annual Action Plan for US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant funds.  The Annual Action Plan describes the programs and activities proposed for the 2016-17 program year during which the City and Consortium expect to receive $4.23 million in funds for the CDBG, HOME and ESG grant programs from HUD and the State of Nevada. The plan indicates physical improvements and community development projects to be completed by the City, how funding will be used to address the needs of those experiencing homelessness, and how affordable housing activities will be carried out by the Washoe County HOME Consortium. A 30-day public comment period will begin April 7, 2016 and continue to close of business on May 6, 2016.

 

The Draft 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan will be available for public review at the City of Reno City Hall, One East First Street, 12th Floor, Reno, Nevada 89501 or by calling (775) 334-4228 or on our website under Reports, from April 7, 2016. To be included in the final report to HUD, all comments relative to the plan must be submitted to the Community Development Department, City of Reno by close of business on May 6 2016. Comments should be e-mailed to D. Craig at craigd@reno.gov, faxed to 775-334-3124, or hand delivered to Maria Carrillo at City of Reno City Hall, One East First Street, 12th Floor, Reno, Nevada 89501.

 

Public comment will also be taken at a public hearing for the Draft 2015 Annual Action Plan on Wednesday April 13, 2016 before the Reno City Council at City Hall, Council Chambers, One East First Street, Reno. Persons are invited to attend the public hearing and provide comments on the proposed plan.

 

Persons with disabilities or persons who may require special accommodations or assistance at the public hearing should notify the City of Reno at least 48 hours before the meeting. Assistance and/or information may be obtained by calling 775-334-4228 or by email to carrillom@reno.gov.

 

The agenda for the meeting will be posted at Reno City Hall and available on line at www.reno.gov under Calendar, three (3) days prior to the public hearing date.
