Development Application and Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Certification/Recertification
The City of Reno, acting as the Lead Agency for the Washoe County HOME Consortium (WCHC), is seeking developers for the development of affordable housing within the cities of Reno and Sparks and the unincorporated area of Washoe County, Nevada, as well as non-profit agencies requesting certification or recertification as a CHDO. Applications are available as of Wednesday, October 1, 2014, beginning at 10:00 A.M., at Reno City Hall, 1 E. First Street, 12th Floor, Reno, NV 89501. Applications may also be obtained by calling (775) 334-2578, emailing email@example.com., or on the City of Reno website at www.reno.gov/HAND Deadline for submitting a completed application packet is 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014.

A public comment period will begin Friday, September 12, 2014 for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Shelter Grant and HOME Programs.
Copies of the report will be available on September 12, 2014 at the City of Reno, 1 East First Street, 12th floor and at our website at www.reno.gov and search HAND Public Notices. You may also call 775-334-4228 to request a copy for review. A public hearing will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the City of Reno Council Chambers located at 1 East 1st Street, before the Reno City Council at 12:15 P.M.
The public comment period will end on September 26, 2014. To submit written comments, please send them to Claudia Hansen, City of Reno, P.O. Box 1900, Reno, NV 89505 or drop comments by the address listed above. Written comments must be received by close of business on September 26, 2014.
The City of Reno (City) has prepared a draft Annual Action Plan in compliance with federal requirements. The draft Annual Action Plan identifies how affordable housing activities will be carried out by the Washoe County HOME Consortium and City. Additionally, it indicates physical improvement and community development projects to be completed by the City during the program year and how funding will be used to address the needs of those experiencing homelessness. A 30-day public comment period began April 10, 2014. and went through May 12, 2014.
A public hearing for the draft Annual Action Plan was held before the Reno City Council on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 12:15 P.M. Another public hearing was held before the Reno Planning Commission on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers.
