    The Reno Fire Department is proud to announce that the Middle School first-place winner of the 2017 Nevada Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest is Chase Carpenter of Depoali Middle School in Reno. Carpenter is one of three Nevada students to be recognized.

    Reno Fire and Police go pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    The Reno Fire Department (RFD) and Reno Police Department (RPD) will again be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October 2017. RFD and RPD are selling custom pink shirts to the public, with the proceeds benefiting Moms on the Run.

  • No residential structures lost in Woodchuck Fire

    The Reno Fire Department (RFD) responded today at 1:30 p.m. to a fire in west Reno on the west side of Plateau Road. Forward progress on the 62-acre Woodchuck Fire (#WoodchuckFire) was stopped at approximately 5:30 p.m. No residential structures were lost, and no damage to residential structures occurred. There were no injuries to people or to any animals.

  • Kids compete to have their art work posted on Billboards across Nevada

    The Reno Fire Department wants to remind all area children who are in 5th grade, 6th grade, middle school, and High School about the great opportunity to have their artwork published and distributed by the State of Nevada and displayed on billboards all across Nevada.
