Summary: The City of Reno and Sierra Arts Foundation is seeking artists for the 6th annual Reno Art Fest. The Reno Art Fest features a juried art fair at the City Plaza in Downtown Reno, a gallery show of selected works, and the Best of Show prize (selected by the jurors) as well as the People’s Choice Purchase award.  Art Fest was formally Art BLAST but has rebranded because the show is now partnering with CWB Events ( to grow the event with recruitment of national artists. The art fair will be August 19 and 20, 2017 with a reception on Friday the 18th at Sierra Arts Foundation Gallery. .

Local Resident Booth Fee: $75 for 10' x 10' booth, $195 for 10' x 20' booth, additional $25 for a Corner Space

Non-Resident Booth Fee: $175 for 10' x 10' booth, $295 for 10' x 20' booth, additional $25 for a Corner Space

Awards: The Best of Show prize of $1000 is selected by the Reno Art Fest jurors. The People’s Choice Purchase award will be determined by the public through popular vote only during the fair. The City of Reno will purchase the selected artwork (up to $2000) and add it to the public art collection in City Hall. 

Selection Criteria: All artists are invited to submit applications to participate. In evaluating artists for participation, jurors will consider the overall quality of the work. Artwork that is inappropriate for public display by the City of Reno will not be considered. (Examples of inappropriate work would include, but are not limited to, pieces that are sexually explicit, or potentially offensive in nature.) Artists must demonstrate they have a sufficient amount of high quality original artwork available for sale in an art fair setting.

Artist Expectations: To be considered, artists must be able to attend both days of the art fair (Saturday, August 19, 10a.m.-6p.m. and August 20, from 10:00a.m.-6:00p.m.) Artists must be able to deliver selected work to Sierra Arts Foundation – address below - before August 10, 2017, for inclusion in the Reno Art Fest gallery show at the Sierra Arts Foundation Gallery. Artists will be notified in early May.

Submission Process: Artists must provide the following

  • A brief statement describing your artwork
  • An artist’s resume
  • A portfolio representative of work for sale during the art fair. Portfolio requirements: 10 images, JPEG format (72dpi/1000 pixels on longest side)
  • An image or written description of booth setup
  • Portfolios may be submitted as .pdf or .doc files by email or mail.
