What The Future Holds For The Museum
During the spring and summer of 2008, all operations, offices and the fire museum at Reno Fire Station No. 1 will transition to new temporary locations to prepare for demolition of the station as part of development of a new AAA baseball stadium on the site.

Gamewell Fire Alarm Panel - BoxAs part of that transition, the historic fire apparatus, Gamewell Alarm system, and artifacts displayed in the Reno Fire Department Museum have been temporarily placed in a secure storage facility through the efforts of the City of Reno. Storage of the museum vehicles, artifacts and materials gives the Reno Fire Department the time needed to properly plan for a true museum facility to properly house and explain the City of Reno’s rich fire heritage with interpretive displays.

However, you can take an historic photo tour of the fire apparatus, fire stations and see many of the items from the museum, by following this link to Reno Fire Captain Jon Wagner’s RFD History Page that also includes a chronology of the Reno Fire Department.
