The Reno Arch goes “green.”
Posted Date: 11/12/2009
Be a part of the re-lighting celebration as the “Biggest Little City’s” iconic landmark, the Reno Arch, becomes more energy efficient.

The City of Reno will be replacing the 2,076 incandescent 11-watt bulbs in the Reno Arch with highly energy efficient 2.5-watt LED bulbs.

Archie, the Reno Aces’ mascot, and Bruno, the Reno Big Horn’s mascot, will join in the celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own camera for a unique photo opportunity.

Mayor Bob Cashell, the Reno City Council, Jim Groth, Director of Nevada’s Office of Energy, dignitaries from the area, and representatives from local business will help kick off the re-lighting festivities.

The Reno Arch going green is just one project in the City of Reno’s $20 million Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Initiative.
