The Public Works Department is responsible for planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and repair of City-owned facilities and utility infrastructure. It also provides management of the City’s motor vehicle fleet, which supports all departments except the Fire Department.

Regional Road Reconstruction ProgramThe Regional Transportation Commission works with the Public Works Departments of Reno, Sparks and Washoe County to identify Regional Roads with pavements in poor condition and to repair them as soon as possible.
