Do you ever wonder how your City government works? Who your City Council Member is? How City Hall decides which streets to repair? The Reno Citizens Institute (RCI) may be the answer to all your questions.
Participants meet department heads, elected officials and key professionals. You will learn about everything from the Reno Fire Department's Community Risk Reduction program to the City Attorney's Domestic Violence Unit.
The classes are hands-on and many classes include facility tours. Learn how your public officials make decisions, how funds are allocated, and how the departments work together to make your city great. RCI is a fun program for newcomers and existing residents! Participants who attend at least 6 of the 10 classes will be presented with certificates of completion at a Reno City Council meeting. For more information on the next RCI session, email Lisa Mann at mannl@reno.gov or call 775-334-2025.
