2010 Traffic Calming Project

Sealed proposals for the above mentioned project will be received by the City of Reno, Nevada, at the office of the City Clerk, 1 East First Street, Room 200, Reno, Nevada, until 2:00 p.m. Local Time, on May 26, 2010 for Contract No. F500021.
Said proposal shall include furnishing all labor, tools, implements, machinery, materials, and any incidentals necessary to complete the work in the manner and time prescribed, and in strict conformity with the Contract, Standard Specifications, and Special Provisions, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. In general the major work items include: The construction of traffic calming devices, which will include, but not be limited to the installation of speed tables, median islands, excavation and placement of base material, removal and replacement of asphalt, concrete, pavement striping, signage, provision of traffic control for the duration of the project, and other miscellaneous work as outlined in the plans and specifications.
Contract Documents may be examined and purchased at the City of Reno, office of the City Engineer, 1 East 1st Street, 9th floor, Reno, Nevada, 8:00am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Plans may also be reviewed at the following; Reno Builder’s Exchange, 634 Ryland Street, Reno, Nevada, Sierra Contractor’s Source, 500 Ryland Street #100, Reno, NV, Nevada Blue, 9738 S. Virginia, Suite D, Reno, Nevada, or Rick’s AEC Reprographics, 1909 Prosperity Street, Reno, Nevada. The contact person for this project is Kurt M. Contract Documents will be furnished for twenty five dollars ($25) for each set. Such payment will be non-refundable. Bids shall be subject to, and must be on the City of Reno Proposal forms as contained in the Contract Documents, and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a certified check, a cashier’s check, or cash in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the total bid. All bidders shall appear on the official plan holder list.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
The attention of Bidders is directed to the State Contractor’s License Law (NRS 624.700 as amended to date) and the City License Law that a Contractor hold a valid license with each agency.
For projects which are estimated to exceed 2.5 million in accordance with the engineers estimate, Bidders must be prequalified pursuant to NRS 338.1382(1)(a) to bid on the project. Bidders at the time of submission of the bid must be qualified by the State of Nevada Public Works Board and be on the State Public Works Board Qualified Bidder List. A bidder not prequalified is not an eligible bidder.
Minority and Women Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice, and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for and award of any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement.
