2012 Sewer Rehabilitation

Sealed Proposals will be received by the City of Reno at the office of the City Clerk, 2nd Floor, One East First Street, Reno, Nevada, until 2:00 P.M. Local Time on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, for Contract Number I400062.
Said Proposal shall include all labor, tools, implements, machinery, materials, and any incidentals necessary to complete the work in the manner and time prescribed, and in strict conformity with the Contract Documents to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. In general, the project consists of:
Work shall include but not be limited to rehabilitation of approximately 27,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer piping at various locations throughout the City of Reno and all miscellaneous and incidental work necessary to complete the project as specified. The scope of work shall be completed primarily by utilizing pipe rehabilitation using Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) methods, while some of the work will require new gravity and force main pipe installation by means of excavation and slip-lining methods. The work also shall include rehabilitation, replacement or new construction of manhole structures, abandonment of existing sanitary sewer interceptor pipeline and structures, removal and reconstruction of existing surface improvements as necessary for construction, bypass pumping, traffic control, and miscellaneous incidental work necessary to complete the project as specified. Prevailing wage rates have been determined by the Labor Commissioner of the State of Nevada and are set forth in the Contract Documents.
Digital copies of the plans, specifications and related documents may be examined and downloaded from the Reno E-Plan Room on the City of Reno’s website under the Online Services for a fee of $10.00. Payment is non-refundable. Only those bidders who have purchased and properly downloaded the documents from this website will appear on the planholder list and may submit a bid. Paper copies of the plans and specifications may be examined at the City of Reno, Public Works office at City Hall, One East First Street, 8th Floor, Reno, Nevada.

All Proposals must be submitted on the City of Reno Proposal Forms provided in the Contract Documents, and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a certified check, a cashier’s check, or cash in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals.
The attention of Bidders is directed to the State Contractor’s License Law (N.R.S. Provision 624.700 as amended to date) and the City License Law that a Contractor hold a valid license with each agency.
For projects which are estimated to exceed $2.5 million in accordance with the engineer’s estimate, bidders must be prequalified pursuant to NRS 338.1382(1)(a) to bid on the project.
Minority and women business enterprises are encouraged to submit a Proposal in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or national origin in consideration for and award of any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement. The City of Reno affirms its interest in and encourages the different contracting firms to actively pursue participation and utilization of minority and women-owned business enterprises on City construction projects.
