Mayoral Challenge Gears Up at Washoe County Complex

As part of Bike Week 2017, elected officials will take to the streets on their bicycles on Thursday, May 18 at 9 a.m. at the Washoe County Complex, in an effort to promote bicycling activity and a healthier lifestyle.

Elected officials and community members will cycle through Reno to Sparks as part of the Mayoral Challenge. The ride is slated to end at Diedrichsen Elementary School where participants will distribute books to students as part of the Ride for Reading program.

Mayoral Challenge at Washoe County Complex:

What: Mayoral Challenge bike ride with elected officials. 
Event begins at 9 a.m. with a welcome by Washoe County officials and the reading of a proclamation by a Reno City Councilmember, followed by the bike ride to Diedrichsen Elementary School in Sparks.

Who: Truckee Meadows Bike Alliance, local elected officials and partner agencies.

When: Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Where: Washoe County Complex, 1001 E 9th Street, Reno, 89512.

Why: In an effort to promote bicycling activities, road safety, and a healthier lifestyle, local officials will be accepting the Mayoral Challenge bike ride.
