Council to consider approval of Downtown Action Plan
Council to discuss potential creation of Downtown Management Organization and Business Improvement District
Progressive Urban Management Associates (PUMA) and City of Reno staff will make three presentations regarding the Downtown Action Plan to Reno City Council during a Special Meeting on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 12 p.m.
The Downtown Action Plan identifies priorities for downtown improvements to guide the City of Reno and the community at large for the next several years. The City will use this plan to advance community goals for downtown.
Council will potentially take action on the following items:
6 - Discussion and potential direction to authorize staff to begin the process of developing a plan for the creation of a Downtown Management Organization and to identify and implement the proposed Business Improvement District.
7 - Discussion and potential approval of Change Order #1 to existing Consultant Agreement between the City of Reno and PUMA for the creation of a Downtown Management Organization and Business Improvement District as recommended by the Downtown Action Plan, in an amount not to exceed $69,000 from a Private and/or Contingency Fund.
The Downtown Action Plan was authorized by Reno City Council on April 13, 2016 and supports the City’s Thriving Downtown and University District strategic priority.
Meetings can be streamed at Reno.gov/Meetings or viewed on Charter Channel 194.
