The City of Reno has announced the hire of Aric Jensen as its new Community Development
Director. Jensen officially began his new position on Monday, June 6, 2016.
Jensen comes to the City of Reno with a wealth of planning experience for a number of Utah municipalities. Most recently, he was a Town Planner for Vineyard, Utah. He was also the Community Development Director at one time for Centerville City. After that, Jensen was the Planning and Economic Development Director for Bountiful City, Utah for nearly 10 years.
He has more than 20 years of experience working with communities in both the public and private sectors, with 11 years of experience as a Municipal Planning Director.
“As we build on our newly established strategic priorities, we’re excited to welcome Aric to the team,” Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger says. “He will play a pivotal role in all of them, particularly in fostering our neighborhoods and making our business environment even more efficient and customer-friendly.”
“After my family, community planning is my personal passion in life,” Jensen says. “I enjoy working with residents, employees, Council Members, special interest groups, and other stakeholders in creating the best community possible.”
The Community Development department is responsible for the physical and economic development and growth of the City of Reno. The activities of the department range from maintaining the long range plans for the City to reviewing plans for new buildings and issuing business licenses.
