Father of infant killed on Purdue Avenue, Reno, NV
On July 18, 2014 at about 9:50 p.m. Officers with the Reno Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Purdue Avenue on multiple reports of gunshots being fired. Officers arrived on scene and noted that bullets had traveled through several windows at the apartment complex. They immediately checked on the occupants of the apartments and located a 23 year male inside of one of the apartments suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers initiated life saving measures while awaiting REMSA who also provided medical aid, however the subject was declared deceased at the scene. Also inside the residence was the 23 year olds infant child. The 23 year old father was identified as Reno residence Anthony Cueva DOB 11/02/90. The initial investigation indicates that Mr. Cueva was an innocent victim in this shooting.
It was reported that several young males wearing hoodies were seen running from the scene after the incident and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
